It’s a wonder Queen Rania of Jordan ever has time to take a break. While most royals were on holiday this month, the 31-year-old wife of King Adbullah II remained hard at work alongside her husband, meeting with President Bush about the Middle East conflict and hosting economic talks at the royal palace.
However, it seems, Jordan’s striking queen has finally decided to take a rest on the French coast. Called by American TV the “new ‘it’ couple in the royal world”, Rania, sporting trendy shades, and Abdullah were spotted sailing with their children in celebrity hotspot St Tropez.
And before the St Tropez jaunt, the queen and king took some time off in St Paul De Vence. Dressed casually in khakis and a pale pink top, her dark hair pulled back, Rania strolled with Abdullah in the pictuesque 13th-century village, located just 12 kilometres from Nice near the Côte d’Azur.
“I think it's important every now and then to strip yourself of all the titles and the formalities and just really be yourself,” says Rania, who turns 32 on August 31. “You know, husband and wife with their children, just wanting to relax together.”
