After a whirlwind media blitz in the US, Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell and his family have returned to Britain. And, for the first time since his high-profile trial hit the headlines, he returned to work at his florists shop in Holt, Cheshire.

"It is great to be back doing something normal again," said Burrell, who was acquitted this month of charges stemming from his possession of the Princess' personal belongings. "We have many orders to get through and life goes on."

As the ex-royal servant gets back behind the counter, one of his US interviews was broadcast on US TV Monday night. During the chat, watched by 60 million viewers on the news programme 20/20, he once again defended his decision to speak about the late Princess Diana. "I am not selling the Princess's secrets," he said. "I promised that I would never tell certain things. There are so many things that will remain unsaid, and that's the way it should be."

One insight he did reveal were Diana's apparent aims to move stateside in search of an "idyllic" coastal home. "There were actually plans to move here," he said. "She was going to live on the west coast, in Malibu."

Saying that he would have followed his royal employer stateside, he added: "She loved America. She loved the American people. They're so warm, so forgiving. And of course, she'd always said, well, she wasn't a saint. And American people sort of forgive people much easier, and more readily, than they do in Britain."
