Sarah, the Duchess of York, says she has enlisted the king of TV chat, Michael Parkinson, to help her practice her talk show skills as she prepares to launch her own program. Despite recently pulling out of a scheduled appearance on Michael Parkinson's high-profile chat show, the flame-haired Duchess told the Radio Times that the TV legend has promised to give her tips on how to make her upcoming US cable chat show a success. "He's been very good to me," she says of Parky, whom she met in Scotland at Billy Connolly's 60th birthday party. She adds: "I've asked him for advice on endless occasions, and he is very kindly going to give me a day of his time to help me with my career."
Despite her US TV experience – she has stood in for CNN interviewer Larry King and has worked for the American morning show Today – Sarah admits she's "very apprehensive" about her new endeavor. "I will make endless blunders, as everyone does. After all, I'm starting at 43." The Weight Watchers spokesperson and mother-of-two, however, calls the new project "a hell of an opportunity." "When all is said and done, I have to pay the bills," she says. "I'm a working mum."
