Huge eyed and gently smiling 14-year-old Princess Beatrice leans close to her 12-year-old sister Eugenie, who bears a striking resemblance to her great grandmother, the Queen Mother, at the same age. The parents of the royal sisters were so taken with the image – snapped by their proud mum – they decided to use it for this year's Christmas card.
It is not the first time the royal siblings have graced the family's seasonal greeting. In 1996 the pair were portrayed wrapped in brightly coloured waterproofs and sharing a hug. Two years later they struck a sunnier pose and in 1999's festive image were snapped in towelling wraps. In the 2000 photo it became obvious how much the youngsters had grown, and this year's card reveals two blooming young ladies.
It also showcases the photographic talents of their mum, who is set to publish a book of portraits and landscapes she has snapped on her travels to raise money for her charity Children in Crisis.

The snapper behind the card is the siblings' mum, Sarah, whose photographic talents will soon be showcased in a book of portraits and landscapes, which aims to raise money for her charity Children in Crisis.
