The British Royal Family's "blonde bombshell" Lady Helen Taylor, renowned for her elegance, has been released from her £500,000 contract with top-drawer Italian jewellers Bulgari.

Lady Helen, 25th in line to the throne and now a mother of three, has long been a favourite with fashion houses keen to capitalise on her style and popularity. "She has the face of Brigitte Bardot and the body of Marilyn Monroe," declared one of her admirers once; and in her career, her physical attributes were compounded by a love of fashion.

Always considered to be one of the best-dressed Windsor women, Lady Helen won a well-paid and high-profile post as consultant to top American designer Calvin Klein in 1999. She currently holds a similar post with Armani, and until now, also with Bulgari.

The contract with Bulgari, which regularly drapes movie stars with classy sparklers for showbiz bashes, involved appearing at top events wearing some of the jewellers' most fabulous gems. Lady Helen's natural beauty and royal pedigree made her a perfect ambassador for the upmarket brand, but it seems that hard times in the luxury goods market have forced the end of the arrangement.

Happily, Lady Helen is still celebrating the arrival of her third child and first daughter, Eloise, who was born on March 2, 2003. She has been married to her husband Tim since 1992.

Now a mother of three, Lady Helen will no doubt miss the income she enjoyed with Bulgari, but still has a similar arrangement with Armani
