The Prince of Wales and his companion Camilla Parker Bowles presented a glamorous sight this week when they went for a spin in the heir to the throne's sporty convertible.
With the top down and the Prince at the wheel of the 1969 Aston Martin DB Volante, the pair donned cool shades for the ride home from the Cirencester Polo Club, where Charles had taken part in a charity match as his companion looked on from the sidelines.
And it has not gone unnoticed by royal watchers that Camilla's appearance in the passenger seat brings to mind Charles' late ex-wife Princess Diana, who was photographed many times at the Prince's side in the same sports car. Diana once famously sat on the bonnet of the prized vehicle at the same polo club, earning a royal reprimand from her car-proud husband, who quickly shooed her off.
The blue convertible, which was a 21st birthday gift from the Queen, is one of three Aston Martins owned by the Prince.
