Prince Charles got a warm reception from two of Asia's most beautiful women on Tuesday, when he attended a fashion show in Delhi.

After strutting their stuff on the catwalk, Shonali Nagrani - who is the current Miss India - and Miss Tibet, Tsering Kyi, chatted with the visiting royal and posed for photographs. It seems Shonali took quite a shine to the future king, who has just started a nine-day tour of the country.

"I wish I was a bit older and he was a little younger," said the 22-year-old, who also professed to a liking for Prince William. "I wish his sons were here. I just look at William and get goosebumps. All women in India think the same." Miss Tibet was also much taken with the Prince, saying that he was "very down to earth and very responsible".

After bidding farewell to the two beauties, Charles spent the afternoon touring a vocational training centre for disadvantaged youth. "I find this so fascinating," he enthused as young Indian women painted intricate henna patterns on their hands.

The Prince of Wales, who last visited India 11 years ago with Princess Diana, was also keen to stress the importance of Britain's ties with the country. "India has deep roots in our past," he said. "It is part of our collective memory. It will also be a long-term partner in our future security and prosperity."
