The Countess of Wessex looked understandably relieved when she joined other leading Royals for an Easter Sunday Service at Windsor. Her outing came after she received reassurances from doctors about an eye problem her baby daughter has developed.
Lady Louise, who was delivered last November by emergency Caesarean, is suffering from exotropia, meaning that one of her eyes turns outwards. But experts say the condition is not uncommon among young children and should correct itself over time. There is a small chance that surgery will be required, but this is extremely unlikely.
Despite the unsettling news, Sophie and her husband managed to enjoy the traditional Easter visit to St George's chapel. She wore a fetching red outfit to the ceremony, while Princess Anne, Beatrice and Eugenie all opted for white. The Queen, in pale green, was chaperoned by the Duke of Edinburgh, who donned a smart wool coat to keep the cold at bay.
The Prince of Wales meanwhile accompanied his long-time companion Camilla Parker Bowles on a windswept walk through the heather at Balmoral. The pair were joined by Camilla's daughter Laura and her boyfriend Harry Lopes for their hillside hike.
