Norway's Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit have been getting into the festive spirit by making some seasonal goodies. The royal couple got a helping hand from her son Marius and little Princess Ingrid Alexandra when they decided to bake Christmas cakes at their home.
These newly-released photographs, which were taken at Skaugum Palace, show the family getting down to work in their kitchen there. But they will be heading for the Royal Palace in Oslo on Christmas Eve, where they are to meet up with King Harald, Queen Sonia and the rest of the royal family for a traditional feast.
In keeping with Norwegian tradition, the Christmas tree will also arrive on the 24th, so that the whole family can join in decorating it. The many presents are then laid out on a series of low tables, ready to be opened by Marius, Ingrid and the other royal youngsters the following morning.
