It's not every art gallery opening that gets quite the boost Belgravia's Eleven did on Wednesday evening, but then, not every art gallery manager can welcome a senior member of royalty to the event because she's their mum. The Duchess of Cornwall was clearly as delighted as any proud mother would be when she attended the inauguration of the gallery, which is to be run by Laura Parker Bowles, her 26-year-old daughter by former husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

And the Prince Of Wales' wife once again demonstrated her fashion sense by sporting a trendy embroidered gypsy-style skirt, whose vivid red hue and sparkling detail perfectly matched the spirit of Laura's latest enterprise.

We can expect to see the Duchess return to more classic outfits, though no doubt finished with her own touch, when she and Prince Charles undertake their first official foreign trip as a couple next month.

The future king and his wife are due to meet US President George Bush during a visit encompassing New York, Washington and San Francisco. Clarence House said the trip would focus on economic, cultural, environmental and community links between the two nations.

It will be Charles' first official trip to the US since 1994. He has already given an interview for the news programme 60 Minutes which will be broadcast during his November visit with Camilla.
