Zara and Mike riding high at Cheltenham

Zara Phillips' winning form continued on New Year's day as she and boyfriend Mike Tindall cleaned up at the races. The pretty royal was left jumping for joy after she and her beau picked a winner at Cheltenham on Sunday afternoon.

Mike could barely contain his enthusiasm when Joacci, a 12-1 outsider to win the race, galloped home in first place. The 27-year-old rugby ace punched the air with delight and roared his approval, prompting Zara to jokingly cover his mouth with one hand.

Chalking up a victory at the event made for an appropriately triumphant start to 2006. Last year Princess Anne's horse-loving daughter made quite an impact on the equestrian world, picking up a clutch of accolades for her efforts.

Just before Christmas she was named Sportswoman of the Year by The Sunday Times, while she also took glory at the London International Horse Show, where she received the trophy for Event Rider of the Year.
