Sophie Wessex showed her aptitude for modern technology when she visited a group of youngsters in Gloucestershire this week. The countess joined pupils at Kings Stanley Junior School in Stroud on Wednesday afternoon as they opened their laptop computers and got down to some hi-tech learning.
It wasn't clear who had the greater expertise when the pretty royal crouched down for a chat with one young boy, but, judging by the looks of concentration on both of their faces, the two were equally immersed in the task at hand.
Prince Edward's pretty wife, who was looking characteristically radiant in a tailored red suit with a scarf around her neck, was presented with a bouquet of flowers on her arrival at the institution. And the popular royal, whose daughter Lady Louise has recently turned two, was eager to learn about all the goings-on in a modern classroom.
Education is an issue of particular importance to both Sophie and her husband. Just last week the couple crossed the pond to encourage American young people to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards programme. "It is open to all – there are absolutely no barriers," said the prince. "Anybody who wishes to take part may do so."
