It’s been a year since Camilla Parker Bowles became The Duchess of Cornwall, an event which marked a definitive before and after for the Prince of Wales’ longtime love. In themonths prior, she’d undergone a subtle style transformation – softer make-up, a designer wardrobe, a slimmer silhouette – one that culminated in the day she walked down the aisle.
She’s now had time to show off her new image as the wife of the heir to the throne, and hellomagazine.com readers have weighed in on which of her looks suits her best.
Asked to name Camilla’s most flattering style, more than a third of the nearly 2,300 votes counted, 36.1 per cent, chose Camilla’s theatrical evening ensembles, epitomised by the striking long velvet aubergine coat she wore as she joined her husband at an autumn Royal Opera House performance in London.
A close second were the elegant outfits she topped with fabulously eye-catching hats by her favourite milliner, Philip Treacy. And third, coming in at 21 per cent – just one point behind the second place choice – was the look for which the Duchess may be best known: practical but smart in country casual.
Photographs have been etching the new-look Camilla into the minds of the public, and website readers also chimed in on the most memorable image of the Duchess. The response was overwhelming: nearly 80 per cent chose the photo capturing the moment a radiant Camilla emerged from the church ceremony which had followed her Windsor Guildhall nuptials.
