The Dutch royal family has just welcomed another bundle of joy into its rapidly expanding household. Prince Constantijn and his wife Princess Laurentien became parents for the third time when their new daughter Leonore made her big debut at the weekend.
Laurentien gave birth to the infant, who weighed in at just under 7lbs, on Saturday evening at Bronovo Hospital in the Hague. The little girl enters a family which has plenty of experience with children, as Huis ten Bosch Palace has become accustomed to the pitter-patter of tiny feet in recent years.
Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and his wife Maxima are proud parents to two-year-old Amalia and her baby sister Alexia, while Prince Johan Friso and Princess Mabel welcomed Princess Luana just over a year ago. Leonore also has two older siblings, Eloise Sofia, four, and Claus, who is two.
Queen Beatrix's sixth grandchild, whose full title is Countess Leonore Marie Irene Enrica Duchess of Orange-Nassau, has a near-namesake in Spain, too. Crown Prince Felipe's daughter, who was born last October, is also called Leonor.
