Having spent the last week leading a 250-strong delegation of business leaders on a tour of Russia, Crown Prince Philippe is deserving of a bit of time off. And Belgium's future king found the perfect way to unwind and forget about the pressures of his position over the weekend when he enjoyed some fun and games with his loved ones.
The crown prince and his wife Mathilde were both on top form as they brought their three children to visit the medieval town of Limbourg. Four-year-old Princess Elisabeth, who will one day become queen of her European homeland, was laughing excitedly as she tried out the slide in a local playground, while her little brother Gabriel seemed more interested in getting to know the goats in a nearby animal enclosure. The youngest member of the family, nine-month-old Prince Emmanuel, was content to just sit back and watch all the excitement unfold from the comfort of his pram.
Philippe and Mathilde have been relishing the opportunity to focus all their energies on family life after what has been a hectic few weeks for the royal couple. Prior to their week-long tour of Russia, they were in Luxembourg to represent their country at Grand Duke Henri and Duchess Maria Teresa's silver wedding anniversary celebrations.
