Sarah and Eugenie looking cool in sunny St Tropez

The Duchess of York recently declared that she and her daughters were "totally and utterly connected in every way". And that certainly seemed to be the case when she was snapped soaking up the sunshine with 16-year-old Princess Eugenie in the glitzy resort of St Tropez this week.

Sarah and her younger daughter were sticking close to each other's side as they walked barefoot along the waterfront of the Riviera hotspot. The flame-haired celeb used a trendy sunhat and black linen dress to keep the sun's rays at bay, while her teenage daughter was likewise keeping cool with a floaty white dress and aviator-style sunglasses.

The two were also spotted a few days ago mingling with the jet set in Club 55, an exclusive nightspot on nearby Pampelonne Beach. And after spending Monday night rubbing shoulders with the likes of Penelope Cruz and Paris Hilton at lavish bash thrown by rap star Diddy, the royal pair seemed content to take it easy and enjoy the beach on Wednesday afternoon.

Eugenie and her older sister Beatrice are expected to jet across the pond to New York next week to spend some time at their mother's US home. A few days in the Big Apple will no doubt provide more opportunities to attend glamorous A-list parties, but the most important thing in both their minds is likely to be the simple pleasure of quality time with their mum.
