Prince William took special care not to put a foot wrong when he went on parade for King Abdullah and Queen Rania at the weekend. The second in line was among 484 officer cadets who took part in the Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst Military Academy on Friday.

The Jordanian monarch, who himself graduated from the academy 25 years ago, was representing the Queen at the annual event in her absence. And the 44-year-old, whose contributions to bring peace in the Middle East are recognised around the world, made sure to remind the budding soldiers that being a good officer did not necessarily mean having a warlike personality.

"Although we are trained in the profession of arms never forget you are soldiers, not warriors, and that armed conflict is always the worst and must be the very last way to settle disputes," he said. "You will take up one of the most demanding but rewarding of professions, the command of men and women who will look to you when things go wrong. It is then that your training and preparation to be an officer will cut in."

King Abdullah's beautiful wife, who was sporting an elegant white coat and floral skirt, also garnered her fair share of attention. And being two of the world's most photographed royals isn't the only thing Wills and Rania have in common, as they were both named in a list of best dressed stars published by fashion bible Vanity Fair recently.
