As one of Britain's top equestrian talents we are used to seeing Zara Phillips strutting her stuff in a rural setting, but the stylish royal cut just as dynamic a figure when she took to the trading floor of a City stockbroking firm on Monday afternoon.
The 25-year-old was accompanied by her mother Princess Anne and boyfriend Mike Tindall when she helped man the phones at BGC in Canary Wharf. Along with formula one driver Damon Hill and cricketer Andrew Flintoff they were taking part in an annual fundraising event to mark the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Dealers hard at work in the office might have been forgiven for getting a little distracted, as Zara managed to turn quite a few heads in her knee-high leather boots and khaki hotpants. With forecasters predicting gales in the days ahead the pretty royal, who is known for her daring fashion statements, seemed intent on making the most of the warm weather.
And despite the grey skies currently sweeping over Britain, it looks set to be a bright year ahead for the queen's granddaughter. Having recently been crowned world equestrian champion, the horse-mad royal is being tipped to win the BBC's prestigious sports personality of the year award in December.
On Monday, however, her only objective was to raise as much money as possible. BGC and investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald, both of which lost many employees in the 2001 terrorist attacks, are giving all revenues from the day's trading to good causes.
