Zara Phillips has plenty of reason to celebrate this week after being named Equestrian of the Year. The 25-year-old royal was given the trophy by the Horse Of The Year show in recognition of her recent achievements at the World Equestrian Games in Germany.

When Zara took home the individual gold medal from Aachen she became only the third person in history to hold the World and European championship titles at the same time. And the blonde royal's new award is just the latest in a series of riding accolades that decorate her family home. Her proud mum Princess Anne was European champion back in 1971, while her father Mark Phillips won the team gold medal on three separate occasions.

Zara now looks certain to realise her dream of competing for her country in the Olympic Games. In years gone by both of her parents have taken part in the world's most prestigious sporting competition and Zara has made no secret of her desire to do the same at the 2008 event in Beijing.
