It was a case of re-living happy memories when Prince Louis of Luxembourg tied the knot with his sweetheart Tessy Anthony in the parish church of Gilsdorf. The happy couple celebrated another landmark occasion there in April when they christened their son Gabriel.
And their little boy – dressed in a smart white coat - certainly shared the limelight on his parents' big day, enjoying a hug from his dad as they left the service. Despite the low-key ceremony, hundreds of royal fans had turned out in the town 25 miles north-east of Luxembourg to catch a glimpse of the 20-year-old newlyweds.
And the crowds weren't disappointed when the radiant bride emerged from the church in a beautiful, pearl-encrusted ivory dress and long flowing veil - with her proud husband and seven-month-old son at her side.
Tessy, who held a delicate bouquet of white blooms, met the third-in-line to the throne when they were both serving in the Luxembourg army during a mission to Kosovo in 2004. She gave birth to Gabriel in March this year – the first grandchild for her new parents-in-law, Grand Duke Henri and Duchess Maria-Teresa.
Although Louis has dropped his rights of succession to the throne of the tiny European Duchy he will still retain his title and family name of "de Nassau".
