Watch video coverage of the Queen's visit
The Queen followed the progress of construction work at the local school near her Sandringham estate in Norfolk with interest. So when it came to christening the new £200,000 classroom the royal matriarch was the obvious choice.
Wearing a cheery shade of blush pink for her visit, the monarch toured Flitcham Primary School with the headteacher Angela Eden.
Despite the absence of Prince Philip, who was unable to attend as he's pulled a muscle in his back, the 82-year-old was in good spirits, smiling as she chatted with pupils.
Following the VIP visit, ten-year-old Chloe Mayes spoke of her excitement at meeting their royal neighbour. "The Queen looked really nice. She was really quiet and she was not as big as we thought."
"We were sad not to see the Duke of Edinburgh, but our teacher explained that he had hurt his back and was not coming," she added.
