Princess Maxima buys a spread back in her Argentinean homeland

The Argentinean press is reporting Princess Maxima of the Netherlands and her husband Willem-Alexander have purchased a new property in the princess' homeland.

Bordered by a river and sprawling over 1,500 acres of rolling Argentinean plain, the new property is in an area popular with other members of Maxima's family, who enjoy its outdoor sports opportunities.

And while official sources deny the couple has a new holiday home in the country, the estate - a former farm near Pilpilcura - has reportedly be purchased by Maxima's family.

The couple make frequent journeys back to the princess' homeland and the $3.5 million estate. located in an area where her elder brother Martín has a company and several restaurants, would make a handy base.

According to the Argentinean press the 1,500-acre property is understood to have been found by Maxina's brother and is located near to the city of San Carlos de Bariloche
