In recent years the Duchess of Cornwall has established a reputation for style, and the 61-year-old continued to impress with her spot-on sartorial choices at an official engagement this week.

Camilla's effortlessly elegant outfit of beautifully tailored coat and matching hat featured one of this season's hottest trends by placing emphasis on the shoulders, which were adorned, epaulette style, with delicate beading.

Once known for her country-comfortable wardrobe, the Duchess of Cornwall has emerged as one of the front-runners in the royal style stakes since wedding Prince Charles in April 2005.

Her latest style statement was donned for a visit to Epsom Downs racecourse where she opened a new grandstand named in her honour. Upon her arrival at the Surrey track – which has undergone a £37-million redevelopment since last June - she was greeted by hordes of colourfully-dressed children waving Union flags.
