In less than a month Prince William and his brother Prince Harry will embark on their first joint overseas tour.
The popular young royals are heading to southern Africa from June 14 to 19, during which time they will visit Botswana and Lesotho before heading to Cape Town in time for England's World Cup match against Algeria.
William and Harry's visit is based around an invitation from the Football Association – of which William is president – for the brothers to go to South Africa to support the 2018 bid. However, the kind-hearted pair are also using the visit to spend time with their respective charities in the area, and to show one another the work each organisation has achieved.
While in Botswana, Prince William will have the chance to see firsthand the efforts of his patronage, the Tusk Trust, which does conservation and humanitarian work in the area.
Similarly, in Lesotho, Harry, 25, will be able to visit projects supported by Sentebale, the charity he founded with Prince Seeiso of Lethoso to support children and orphans in the mountain kingdom.
While they will be spending much of their time together, Prince Charles' sons must fly separately at all times in case of an accident. To date, no arrangements have been made for the boys to meet the England football team, although they are expected to take the opportunity to do so.
They may well also be joined by girlfriends Kate Middleton and Chelsy Davy in time for the match – Harry's girl has reportedly invited William's love to spend time with her in South Africa as the football tournament kicks off.
Meanwhile, it emerged this week that having recently received his provisional pilot's wings, Prince Harry has decided to celebrate with a five-week holiday back-packing in Africa ahead of his official visit.
According to the Daily Mail, the prince flew to the town of Maun, Botswana last weekend before heading off into the bush. It is thought he will spend a few days with Chelsy and her family at a luxury resort in the Indian Ocean at the end of his trip, before flying back to Botswana in time for the tour.
