April 7, 2011

It's a traditional part of Moroccan culture, but a henna tattoo might not sit so well at a British royal wedding. So The Duchess of Cornwall may be hoping the new body art that she acquired during her trip to Morocco will rub off in time for her stepson's upcoming nuptials.

Whilst touring the ancient town of Fez, Camilla embraced local culture and had an orange water flower design applied to her right index finger.Told by the tattoo artist that it can last up to two weeks, Camilla joked: "This will look good at the wedding. "The Duchess had been touring the bustling Medina of the city. And she also indulged in some shopping, stopping at a Moroccan shoe shop to buy some small leather slippers for her grandchildren.Walking through the narrow streets of the historic centre, she reportedly said: "I could spend the whole day here, I could spend a fortune. "Meanwhile, Prince Charles visited the Danan Synagogue and wore a blue velvet skullcap.

Earlier on, the couple had watched students carrying out traditional Moroccan woodwork and clothing design, with Charles deeming their work "marvellous".The royal couple's trip to Morocco marks the end of a ten-day tour which has also seen them visit Portugal and Spain.
