Smile back on Princess Mette-Marit's face following Norway tragedy

August 23, 2011

Judging by Princess Mette-Marit's expression it seems the royal has put behind her a very tough month. The Norwegian princess was smiling and looking happy during a visit with her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, to Hedmark. During their trip to the southeastern part of the country they visited the Frankmotunet sled dog kennel where Mette-Marit quickly became besotted with the puppies.

The royal couple also shared tender moments with each other as they toured the facilities. Prince Haakon has been a big support for his wife since she lost her stepbrother during the murderous rampage that took place last month in their country. This appearance came hot on the heels of their youngest son Prince Sverre Magnus' first day of school. The five-year-old attended Jansløkka School in Asker last week, not far from his family’s palace in the Oslo suburbs.

This is the same establishment elder sister Princess Ingrid Alexandra already attends, and half brother Marius Borg Høiby is also a former pupil. The little prince, who turns six in December, was escorted by his parents and his grandmother, Queen Sonja.
