Prince Albert once said that it would be difficult for anyone to follow his mother as the Princess of Monaco. So he must be happy with the way his wife Princess Charlene has taken on the role with such grace and poise.

After Princess Grace's death, it was Princess Caroline who stepped into her mother's shoes. But now it is Charlene who is moving steadily into the high-profile role. That much was clear this week as the South African beauty joined her sister-in-law and husband at the launch of a collection of jewellery inspired by Princess Grace. As she made her entrance to the Mont Blanc event with Albert - Caroline walking a few steps behind - the focus of the assembled press was firmly on Charlene. The 33-year-old exuded calm and quiet confidence – which has been building since she became the principality leader's wife.

Joining the couple at the launch were a number of glam celebs, among them Jerry Hall, Daryl Hannah and Eva Herzigova.
