Judging by the warmth of the reception given to pop's biggest teen sensation, the movement of true Beliebers extends to the White House. President Obama's girls Malia, 13, and Sasha, 11, were besides themselves with excitement at meeting Justin Bieber.
Malia had obviously put a lot of thought in her outfit for the Christmas concert in Washington, and was dressed in an eye-catching yellow mini dress in his honour.And the junior pin-up also got a hug from their father.Justin was joined on the bill by Cee Lo Green and Jennifer Hudson. The concert of Christmas carols and songs was hosted by comedian Conan O'Brien and was in aid of the Children's Medical Centre.
Before the gig, the first family - including Michelle and her mother Marian Robinson - greeted young patients, who were dressed as elves, and presented them with a basket of children's books. Barack playfully struggled to lift the basket and asked the elves to help him place it under a Christmas tree.Other entertainers included the United States Naval Academy Glee Club, Washington Youth Choir, American Family Choir, United States Army Band Herald Trumpets, Ian Fraser and the Christmas in Washington Orchestra.
