Clad in exquisite Alexander McQueen couture, draped in jewels, with her trademark curls tumbling around her shoulders, the Duchess of Cambridge looked every inch the stylish young royal that she has become.
Flanked by not one, but two handsome Princes – her husband William and brother-in-law Harry – and joined by a host of famous faces including footballer David Beckham and Prime Minister David Cameron, she had come to London’s Imperial War Museum to honour the bravest of the brave.
It was a glittering night, where female celebrities in glorious gowns would mingle alongside their male contemporaries, dashing in black tie.But for Kate, the royal brothers and everyone gathered, the true stars of the evening were the men and women in uniform: the heroes in whose honour The Sun’s Military Awards – aka the Millies – are held, and whose stories of selflessness and courage in the face of the most extreme adversity moved the Duchess to tears.
