Laughing and cheering at a darts game, Mike Tindall appeared to have made a New Year's resolution to look on the bright side of life again after a turbulent few months. The rugby player looked in great spirits as he and wife Zara Phillips attended the World Darts Championship at London's Alexandra Palace. The Queen's granddaughter and her athlete husband looked relaxed and jovial as they soaked up the atmosphere along with a 2, 500-strong crowd.
At one point Mike donned huge comedy glasses and a shaggy wig, and leapt out of his chair to wave a score board. His antics raised a smile from his wife and also from fellow fans at the game. It's a case of new year, new start for the couple who were dogged by mishaps in 2011. After their sumptuous wedding, attended by the entire royal family in the summer, they were separated.
While Mike travelled to New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup, his equestrian champion bride Zara was left behind to concentrate on her horseriding commitments. During the tournament her new husband was pictured embracing an ex-flame during a night on the town. He was later handed a £25,000 fine and banned from the England squad. However, the decision was overturned and the fine reduced following a successful appeal.
