It was an outfit fit for a Queen: a pretty cornflower blue dress coat with matching titfer.The pretty number, which was designed by Bromley school children, was presented to the monarch on Tuesday as she toured South London to mark the Diamond Jubilee.Joined by Prince Phillip, the monarch arrived at Bromley Town Centre in the morning.The royal couple visited Queen's Gardens to tour the ‘London as a Global Centre of Fashion’ exhibition and meet London-based designers.
Then inside the Glades Shopping Centre the pair were shown the winning outfits designed by local primary school children before moving on to Market Square and Bromley High Street where they left for the London Borough of Merton.
There the royal visitors will attend a British Picnic themed Reception at St Mark's Church of England Academy in Mitcham, attended by representatives from the thirteen South London Boroughs.
The group will round off the day with afternoon tea in Holly Lodge Gardens where they will unveil a plaque for a new holly tree.
Finally, the royal visitors will meet young and adult riders from Riding for the Disabled.
In the afternoon, the monarch and Prince Phillip – joined by the Queen's cousin Princess Alexandra – will visit the Wild London festival in Richmond Park, which celebrates London’s woodlands, parks and gardens.
