Kate's delight at floral tribute by junior Prince Charming

June 13, 2012

The Duchess of Cambridge looks delighted as she receives flowers from a little prince on a Jubilee visit to Nottingham.Brendon Morris presented Kate with the bouquet as she and Prince William accompanied the Queen on the latest leg of her nationwide tour.

Unable to have her husband the Duke of Edinburgh by her side, the monarch had asked her grandson and his wife along.

Deafening cheers greeted the Queen as she arrived in the city by train shortly after 10.00 am, to be met by William and Kate.

The young royals had arrived earlier by car and spent time chatting with dignitaries on platform 6 as they waited for the Queen.

Their appearance caused a group of passengers to gather on an opposite platform, causing cheeky William to quip: "Are you waiting for the same train we are?!"After making their way through the station, the party were greeted by a rousing cheer from hundreds of wellwishers who had gathered outside.

The Queen looked happy as she chatted to excited schoolchildren and accepted their beautiful bouquets of flowers.Impeccably dressed in a silk tweed Stuart Parvin coat and dress, the 86-year-old showed no signs of fatigue following her impressive Jubilee schedule. And Kate perfectly complemented the monarch in a powder blue Missoni coat dress and a navy hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan.Eagle-eyed royal followers will no doubt recognise the tailored tweed outfit as that which she wore to visit Fortum and Mason with the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall two months ago.

And the monarch was clearly overwhelmed by the response, looking particularly emotional as she waved to the crowds.

The Queen, William and Kate then made an appearance on the balcony of Council House – reminiscent of their Jubilee balcony appearance.

Onlookers cheered and waved flags as they lined the royals' route to the city’s Old Market Square, where thousands more had gathered.
