Reaching 30 is a landmark birthday which calls for special celebrations, and Princess Madeleine of Sweden's four-day fiesta certainly didn't disappoint. On Sunday, the blonde royal entered her fourth decade after several days of private get-togethers with her nearest and dearest. The party began on Thursday when Madeleine enjoyed lunch with her big sister Crown Princess Victoria in Stockholm's chic Djurgarden district.
Victoria's daughter Estelle - her child with husband Daniel - also joined mummy and auntie. After the ladies day out, Madeleine's financier love Chris O'Neill was by her side as she attended a party with friends. Her proud parents King Carl Gustaf and his wife Silvia wrapped things up on Sunday with a reception at Drottningholm Palace. In the evening, Madeleine let her hair down with her brother, Carl Philip and his girlfriend, Sofia Hellqvist at Victoria's official residence Haga Palace.
Sweden's youngest Princess is clearly consolidating her relationship with Chris, whom she lives with in New York. As well as being by her side for the landmark birthday, he was also invited to the christening of little Estelle. In an unprecedented move, the king gave his permission for his daughter's beau to attend the event – a clear indication of acceptance by the Swedish royals. They are no doubt delighted Chris helped Madeleine find happiness again after the pain of her split with fiancé Jonas Bergstrom. Jonas was unfaithful with a Norwegian student during a skiing holiday, leading Madeleine to call time on their relationship.
