Bouncing baby Estelle thriving under her attentive mother's care

August 16, 2012

Three beaming smiles say that Sweden's fledgling royal family is doing well. Nearly six months after her birth, Princess Estelle's progress continues to be followed eagerly by her people. And they seem just as in love with the bouncing baby girl as her parents Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.

In the latest pictures of the happy trio published on Facebook, the 35-year-old future queen and her husband look thrilled with their little princess, despite the inevitable sleepless nights and extra work that come with parenthood. Wearing a cute blue dress that could have been a gift from her grandparents King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia and gurgling in delight, the Duchess of Ostergotland, to give her her full title, appears to be thriving.

In the image her proud father tenderly holds one of her tiny feet. His wife is so taken with her little one she chose to stay home rather than travel to the Olympics – Daniel, 38, and her brother Carl Philip went on her behalf. Of Victoria's decision, a royal spokesman said: "She has chosen to prioritise Princess Estelle, the trip would have been too tough to make with such a small child. "It's the case with all other families with small children."
