Smiles all round as Poppy Delevingne charms the Countess of Wessex

October 16, 2012

When the Countess of Wessex met newly-engaged model Poppy Delevingne at Harvey Nichols, it was a match made in a fashion heaven  – they're both well-heeled blondes whose sartorial choices excite and inspire. The two ladies were at the iconic store to launch Wool Week – an annual initiative celebrating the best of wool across the fashion and artisan industries.

Although their two worlds are somewhat different – Sophie is a prominent member of the royal family, while Poppy is a regular fixture at the globe's fashion weeks – the women certainly made a connection. The pair laughed and joked their way through a photo call at the event. Afterwards, the royal inspected the wares inside the collection, while Poppy got on with holding everything together – she was on hosting duty with Condé Nast president Nicholas Coleridge.

It's been a busy few weeks for the stunning blonde – who has fronted campaigns for the likes of Burberry, Mango and Jigsaw. She also turned out for Paris Fashion Week to support her model sister Cara, who walked the runway at Marc Jacobs' Louis Vuitton show. Sophie also has a hectic schedule herself. She and husband Edward, The Earl of Wessex, will fly the flag for the British royalty at the impending Luxembourg royal wedding of Prince Guillaume and Stephanie de Lannoy.
