Daniel and Victoria fall even more in love with their autumn belle Estelle

October 16, 2012

Little Princess Estelle is undoubtedly the apple of her mum and dad's eye. The cute seven-month-old is showered in affection by her parents, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel in a series of adorable snaps.

Estelle, the future queen of Sweden, can be seen playing in the autumn leaves with the couple in the picturesque gardens of the royal residence of Haga Palace in Stockholm. And a closer look reveals the little one has her daddy's green eyes and her mother's lovely smile.

The sweet photos were taken to celebrate a new exhibition, 'Princess Estelle - Birth and Baptism', which opens on October 19 in the royal palace. It details the little princess' baptism, and how the royal court prepared for it.

Royal watchers can also see the beautiful christening gown the royal baby wore on her special day.

The  robe was also worn by Victoria and her father King Karl Gustaf III at their baptisms. It was a joyous day for the whole family when Estelle was christened on May 22 in the magnificent, gold-trimmed 17th-century chapel where her ancestors have been baptised for generations. And living up to her name, Estelle was a little star during the proceedings – presided over by the Archbishop of Uppsala, Anders Wejryd – only opening her eyes with curiosity when the baptismal water was poured over her head. The king had brought the water himself from Solliden, the family's summer palace. And it was contained in a font made of Indonesian silver, which dates back to 1746, and was first used for the christening of Prince Gustav III. Afterwards, Carl Gustaf decorated the young princess with the Order of the Seraphim, which is given exclusively to members of the Swedish royal family and foreign heads of state. Estelle is one of a new generation of female future sovereigns. Along with Elisabeth of Belgium, Dutch Princess Catharina-Amalia and Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, she is likely to reign towards the middle of the century.
