Stepping out tor the first time since announcing their engagement, Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Chris O'Neill, looked as happy as ever. Financier Chris made his official debut as a future member of the Swedish royal family at a gala in New York with his stunning princess by his side.Madeleine glowed in an elegant layered silver dress, adorned with jewels and accessorised with a matching clutch bag. Her look was completed with the stunning diamond engagement ring that sealed their love and the same diamond earrings she wore to announce her union with Chris.
Held at The Yale Club, the gala was in was in aid of the 100th anniversary of Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, a celebrated World War II hero. On the night, the Swedish princess was given the honour of presenting an award for civil courage to Raymond Kelly, who is Police Chief of New York.Chris, 37, and Madeleine met in the Big Apple back in 2010, and recently announced the news of the engagament in a rare video interview officially released by the Swedish Royal Family. Due to Chris' work commitments, the couple have chosen to make the city that never sleeps their home.The pretty royal moved to New York over two years ago, following her split from fiancé and boyfriend of eight years, Jonas Bergstom. She and London-born Chris now share a luxury apartment in Manhattan.
The Princess, who is fourth in line to the Swedish throne, works at the Foundation for the Children of the World, an NGO that was founded by her mother, Queen Silvia of Sweden.Thirty-year-old Madeleine is set to walk down the aisle in the summer of 2013, although the date remains unconfirmed. The wedding will come three years after her sister, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, married Daniel Westling. And whilst the big day is still half-a-year away, excitement is already builidng with the couple being met by a host of congratulations from well-wishers as they arrived for the gala.
