Stunning images from inside Kate's personal tour photo album

November 22, 2012

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge embarked on their recent Diamond Jubilee tour, the world's cameras were trained on their every move, yielding many memorable images. But it seems that Kate was keen to have her own personal token of the trip, and took a series of stunning photos which have now been shared with the public.

St James's Palace released seven snaps taken by the Duchess of Cambridge while she and husband William were travelling through Borneo. The series of images capture the lush landscapes of the Danum Valley rainforest and its delicate eco-system.

In one picture, an Orangutan peers down at his royal watcher, while another shows the impressive peaks of Mount Kinabalu – the highest point in Borneo – whose misty peaks were photographed while Kate was on the plane. Some images are in black and white, lending an artistic quality and privng that the Duchess has a keen eye.

The holiday album will bring back memories of the fun the royal couple had as they embarked on their tour of South East Asia back in September. Their stop in the Danum Valley rainforest allowed them to meet Royal Society scientists and volunteers, and to experience some of the jungle for themselves. Both were clearly in awe of their exotic surroundings as they wandered around the rainforest floor.Their time there also allowed the Duke to indulge a longstanding interest in conservation, and he was joined by his wife for an explanation of the efforts underway to protect Borneo's impressive landscapes.
