Princess Maxima's husband Willem-Alexander is styled as The Prince of Orange, and the future Queen of The Netherlands' latest look was more than a passing nod to his title. The colourfully-dressed royal was on fine form as she showed her support at the annual Women Inc. conference, described as "an independent platform that connects women and promotes individual development".
Maxima gave a speech at the event and met with various women attending the festival. Guests were clearly thrilled to be chatting to the woman who will become their Queen in two months. While the Princess was at work, more details were emerging about her husband's inauguration as King on April 30 – the day current Queen Beatrix will abdicate. The Dutch Royal Household has released an hour-by-hour running order of events which reveals proceedings will begin at 10am in Amsterdam's Royal Palace. After the formalities, Maxima's daughters Amalia, Alexia and Ariane will make an appearance on the balcony to watch their parents address crowds in their first official act as King and Queen.
She and Willem-Alexander's eldest daughter Amalia, who is just nine-years-old, will be styled as the new Princess of Orange, and become heir to the Dutch throne when her father is inaugurated as William IV of Holland. She and her younger sisters, affectionately known to their parents as the 'Triple A's', have been given as normal a life as possible. But the Dutch royals are increasingly aware of the role that Amalia will have to play in the future, and her presence at official functions will become increasingly common.
