Prince Harry's embrace for girlfriend Cressida warms up Swiss ski break

February 20, 2013

Prince Harry is on a skiing holiday in Verbier, Switzerland, with his socialite girlfriend Cressida Bonas. "They are very much still together," said a source, whose comment was confirmed by images of the couple in a warm embrace. The pair started dating last May after being introduced by Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie. She and sister Princess Beatrice are also on the same holiday in the Swiss resort. The joint break comes after dance student Cressida, a Leeds University graduate, celebrated her 24th birthday on Monday. Until now, the Prince has gone to great lengths to avoid being photographed with Cressida, but their show of affection in Verbier indicates that Harry may be ready to make things more official.

Harry, 28, is halfway through a five-week period of leave from the Army after serving in Afghanistan as an Apache helicopter pilot. In a recent interview to mark the end of his tour of duty, he refused to confirm or deny whether he was in a relationship. "I'm just out here doing my job," he said. "That's all I can say at the moment."

Cressida, who bears a resemblance to Harry's ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, is studying Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Greenwich.

The blonde socialite is known as "Smally" to her family as she is the youngest of five. Her half-sister Isabella Calthorpe is engaged to Richard Branson's son Sam. Cressida was said to be weary of the press attention she would receive by dating Harry. The Prince has also admitted that becoming a royal bride could be daunting. "You ain't ever going to find someone who's going to jump into the position that it would hold," he has said. "Simple as that".
