Pregnant Kate Middleton has been spotted browsing for maternity clothes in a London branch of Topshop. The Duchess of Cambridge, who is sporting a neat baby bump, caused much excitement among fellow shoppers.
"Oh, just an average day, Kate Middleton smiled at me!" wrote one Twitter user. "This was in Topshop! Truly Beautiful." This isn't the first time that Kate has been spotted in the high street fashion store.
In September 2011, Kate spent more than £100 on three items in Topshop, including a £38 pencil skirt, a £65 boucle jacket and a pair of earrings with a feather motif. She joined the queue alongside fellow shoppers, much to everyone’s surprise.
"She was low-key and casual – she seemed so normal," said one Topshop assistant. "She was really chilled out despite some customers in the queue behind her saying, 'Oh my God it's her' and pointing – she didn't seem fazed by it at all."
Said another shopper: "I was so starstruck I was shaking." Kate almost bought another pair of £8.50 earrings on that shopping trip, but changed her mind when she got to the till.
Kate is a fan of both high street and designer fashion. She has been spotted in stores including Jigsaw, Gap and Warehouse. She was recently spotted wearing a monochrome MaxMara wrap dress when she visited Hope House in London, for her first public engagement since announcing her pregnancy.
While she suffered severe morning sickness in the early weeks of her pregnancy, Kate is looking in fine health and is looking forward to the birth of her baby, which is due in July.
