Zara Phillips and mother Princess Anne are a stylish team at Cheltenham

March 13, 2013

Zara Phillips attended Cheltenham for a second day running and was accompanied by her mother Princess Anne for the sophomore outing. The Queen's granddaughter, who attended with husband Mike Tindall the previous day, stood out from the race-going crowd with an elegant red jacket and pillbox hat. Black suede boots and a clutch bag completed the ensemble. There was little chance she wouldn't be recognised by security, as happened on Tuesday.

Next to Zara, the Princess Royal was swathed in a warm brown coat adorned with delicate brooches. Cheltenham is the perfect outing for the mother daughter team, who are both passionate about horses. Zara is an Olympic medallist and won silver at the London 2012 Olympics as part of Team GB's Eventing squad. And Princess Anne's s country estate Gatcombe Park is home to the eponymous horse trials she runs alongside her ex-husband, Zara's father, Captain Mark Phillips. Zara and husband Mike recently sold their classic £1.2 million Georgian house in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire with the intention of joining Princess Anne at Gatcombe Park.

The Olympian already trains and stables her horses in the grounds and can now make full use of the professional equestrian facilities that Gatcombe Park has at its disposal. Zara and Mike lived in a two-bedroom cottage on the estate for almost three years before finding their five-bedroom Gloucestershire mansion. But they're now set to return to a bigger house on the premises as they perhaps think about expanding their family.
