Kate Middleton is now Patron of three further organisations, all of which support causes close to her heart. Pregnant Kate shows no signs of slowing down in the run-up to giving birth as she takes up Patronage of children's mental health support charity Place2Be, youth sports charity SportsAid and The Natural History Museum.

The new appointments reflect the expectant royal's enthusiasm for supporting children and young people and her passion for an active lifestyle and the natural world.

Over the coming months, Prince William's wife will add to her ever-growing list of commitments and will undertake both public and private visits across the UK to her chosen organisations.

With William and Kate's baby due in July and 31-year-old Kate due to take a break from royal duties in June, it might be a while before the hard-working royal can truly get her teeth stuck into her new projects. The popular royal has chosen to support organisations that complement her existing charitable work.

Kate is currently Patron of numerous organisations including Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, The Art Room, London's National Portrait Gallery as well as an Occasional Volunteer in the Scout Association.

The announcement comes ahead of a busy stint for the duchess. On Sunday 20 April, the Queen's 87th birthday, Kate will attend the National Review of the Queen's Scouts at Windsor Castle. On 23 April she will visit a primary school in Manchester and the following evening she will meet young children at the National Portrait Gallery. On her second wedding anniversary, 29 April, she will visit Naomi House, a children's hospice in Hampshire.
