With only five weeks to go until her due date, Kate Middleton is making sure everything is in place ahead of her baby's arrival. The pregnant Duchess was pictured shopping at a high-end interior shop last week as she prepares the new nursery at Kensington Palace for her first child.
Kate, 31, spent 45 minutes inside Bernard Thorp in Chelsea last Tuesday looking at soft-furnishings. The pretty royal, who is expected to give birth on 13th July, gave nothing away as she looked at designs, reportedly picking out beige and brown handmade fabrics. "Kate was fascinated by all the designs and picked out two," a source told the Daily Star Sunday. "She had very definite ideas about what she liked. "It was boiling hot outside so the door was open. She was feeling the heat so we sat her down with a glass of water. The Duchess was charming and so lovely. She didn't put on any airs or graces. She said she's got so many ideas after coming in. "Hours before her shopping excursions, the mum-to-be had joined her husband Prince William and around 2,000 other guests at Westminster Abbey to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen's Coronation.
Kate — who will spend the first weeks after her baby's arrival at her parents' home in Berkshire — has one more scheduled engagement before she begins her maternity leave. On Thursday, she will appear in Southampton to name a new ship, and will christen the vessel in the traditional manner, by breaking a bottle of champagne over its hull.Kate will also attend the Trooping of the Colour next week to mark the Queen's birthday, and may well join William at the Order of the Garter ceremony in Windsor a few days later.
