Monaco will take centre stage once again for the royal wedding of Andrea Casiraghi and Tatiana Santo Domingo on 31 August.

The nuptials of Princess Caroline's eldest son mark the beginning of the second generation of weddings in the principality's reigning Grimaldi family. While Andrea is the first to walk down the aisle, it is only a matter of time before his sister Charlotte and younger brother Pierre follows his lead.

After eight years together, one year of engagement and four months as first-time parents following the birth of their son Sacha in March, a wedding for the besotted couple was definitely on the cards.

The young royal and his fiancée met through his sister Charlotte after the two young women attended the same school, Lycée Jeanne d'Arc Saint-Aspais, in Fontainebleau, near Paris.

Their romance blossomed two years later when they studied together at the American University in the French capital, where they both lived.

They have been discreet in their love since day one, maintaining a low profile and staying away from the media spotlight.

Tatiana, the granddaughter of the late Colombian mega-mogul Julio Santo Domingo who is set to inherit an estimated $6bn fortune, exudes humility and has perfected the art of being a discreet yet supportive consort. Her low-key approach is something the Monegasque royals – Caroline in particular – appreciate.

Hot on her brother’s heels to the alter may well be Charlotte Casiraghi.

The 27-year-old royal has been recently spotted with a burgeoning baby bump. While the Palace has yet to confirm the pregnancy, it is thought that she is in her second trimester.

Rumours have also begun to circulate that the brunette beauty is engaged to her dashing French comedy star boyfriend Gad Elmaleh and that they are planning an autumn wedding.

The two, who have been together for a year and a half, made their relationship official when they attended the Rose Ball in March. Then the world played witness for the first time to their open gestures of love and affection.

Gad is said to have been welcomed and accepted by the Monegasque royal family, despite a 15-year age gap.

It is thought that Charlotte may have been in the early stages of pregnancy at the time.

Since then they have been inseparable, openly showing that they are head over heels in love.

Of course that leaves the youngest of the Casiraghi clan, Pierre, who has been with his long-term girlfriend Beatrice Borromeo for five years now.

The face behind Berlutti’s new campaign met his love, who hails from one of Italy's most famous families, in 2008, when the pair studied at the University of Luigi Bocconi in Milan together.

The question is not if but when the young royals will choose to take the next step, and dazzle us with all the glitz and glamour that is owed to a Monaco wedding.
