Prince William and Kate Middleton have once again been immortalised in wax as Madame Tussauds in Washington DC showed off their latest waxworks of the royal couple. On Thursday Patrick Davies, the British Deputy Ambassador to the United States, unveiled the figures which are modelled on William and Kate's appearance at a Los Angeles gala, during their first official tour to the USA and Canada.William is seen wearing a smart dinner suit and bow tie while Kate is dressed in a replica of the stunning lilac Alexander McQueen gown she chose for BAFTA Brits to Watch event in 2011.
The waxworks were reportedly created solely using pictures and video footage as William and Kate's hectic schedules prevented them from attending a sitting. This is not the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge royal couple have been honoured by the famous museum. As the couple celebrated their one year anniversary as husband and wife the moment they announced their engagement was recreated by Madame Tussauds in London.Every last detail from the announcement was been captured, from Kate's shimmering blue Issa dress to the wide smiles and shining eyes of the happy couple.A replica of that famous sapphire ring - formerly belonging to the late Princess Diana - also adorns the Duchess' finger. It took four months and the artistic flare of chief sculptors Louis Wiltshire and Stephen Mansfield to accurately capture the essence of Britain's favourite royal couple.Madame Tussauds is said to have a good relationship with the British royal family dating back to William IV who was King when the first attraction opened in London in 1835.
