It's an event royal fans look forward to each year, not least because it offers the chance of seeing two of Europe's most elegant princesses – Crown Princess Mary and Princess Marie – on top sartorial form. This year's opening of the new Danish parliamentary season won't have disappointed then – with the sartorial-savvy sisters-in-law both stepping out in chic ensembles.
Mary recycled the peplum two piece she wore for the Luxembourg royal wedding of Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie last October.
Prince Frederik's Tasmania-born wife had updated the pretty deep pink-hued outfit, however, with a sheer black lace top and the same stylish hat she wore at the same event last year. Finishing the look was a pair of black stilettoes and a matching clutch and leather gloves.
France-born Marie looked equally fashion-forward in a purple dress coat and matching clutch. Her hair was swept up and held in place with a black fascinator headband, which coordinated with her patent court shoes.
The princesses joined other members of the Danish royal family at the event, which takes place at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen. Among them were royal matriarch Queen Margrethe and her husband Prince Henrik.
