Prince Charles and Camilla to attend Bollywood dinner on India and Sri Lanka tour

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall will be been given a warm Bollywood welcome when they visit India next month on his seventh official trip to the country.Their itinerary includes stops in New Delhi, Pune, Kochi and Dehradun, as well as an off-road trip into an area populated by elephants in Kerala. This will be a treat for the Prince, who shares an interest in conservation with his son Prince William.

As well as meeting business and cultural leaders, the Queen's son and his wife will also visit the Indian Military Academy and mark Remembrance Sunday there.But the highlight will surely be a Bollywood-themed gala dinner in Mumbai. It hasn't been revealed whether any of the industry's glamorous leading lights such as Aishwarya Rai and her husband Abhishek Bachchan will be there, but Charles should enjoy the occasion whoever is on the guest list.On the royal couple's last visit in 2010, the heir to the throne impressed with his willingness to throw himself into dance sessions with locals.This will be Camilla's third official visit to the country – although last year she also took a private yoga holiday at the £3,500-a-night Soukya International Holistic Health Centre in Bangalore.

After the nine-day tour the royal couple move on to Sri Lanka, where they will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) on behalf of the Queen. They will preside over the official opening ceremony before hosting a dinner for Commonwealth leaders.

While Charles holds meetings with Commonwealth heads, Camilla has a programme of engagements at a mental health project, a hospital and a tea estate.

The Prince previously toured Sri Lanka in 1998 and in 2005 in the aftermath of the Boxing Day tsunami.

This will be his wife's first trip to the Asian nation.
