Prince William and Kate Middleton to host charity concert at their new Kensington Palace home

Prince William is hosting a star-studded charity concert at Kensington Palace, the home that he shares with his wife Kate Middleton and son Prince George. The royal couple's press office has confirmed that the Duke of Cambridge will attend the Winter Whites Gala in aid of Centrepoint at Kensington Palace on 26 November.

Taylor Swift  and Jon Bon Jovi will be among the celebrities performing at the concert. There will also be a young singer from Centrepoint, who peformed for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their visit to a Centrepoint hostel in 2011.  British stars James Blunt and Eliza Doolittle are also expected to attend.

The Prince will attend a champagne reception in the King's Gallery ballroom before sitting down to a private dinner before the concert in the royal gardens. At the end of the concert, William will give a speech and present Jon Bon Jovi with the Centrepoint Great Britain Youth Inspiration Award for his humanitarian work.

Particularly exciting is the news that the event will be open to the public. There will be 500 tickets going on sale priced at £500 each, while 250 will be held as 'VVIP' passes, according to the Sunday Times.

The Winter Whites Gala is scheduled to take place on 26 November at the Palace's State Apartments. All proceeds will go to a cause very close to William and Kate's heart, the homeless charity Centrepoint.

William is known to be a big fan of Bon Jovi. He famously performed a karaoke cover of the band's hit Livin On A Prayer at the wedding of his cousin Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall in 2011.The annual concert is usually held at the Royal Albert Hall — this is the first time that patron William will host the event.
