Prince William stepped out to show his support for the British Armed Forces on Sunday, as he attended a fundraising show in London.The Duke of Cambridge, who ended his career as an RAF helicopter pilot in September, made his way to the annual British Military Tournament event where he joined crowds in watching a fantastic military display.William looked to be enjoying himself as he sat in the packed out arena and soaked in the vibrant atmosphere. The new father looked on with pride as the nation's servicemen and women took centre stage.
© Photo: Getty ImagesThe show kicked off with music performed by the Royal Marines Band, and was followed by impressive parades, military re-enactments, daring stunts and shows including horses and camels.
Held in aid of the three national charities of the British Armed Forces - ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund - the annual tournament has raised more than £450,000 since it started three years ago.
While William has taken a step back from his military duties, the charming royal has dedicated more of his time to fulfilling royal engagements, many of which have had an army focus.
© Photo: Getty ImagesOn Friday, the Duke travelled to Aldershot where he presented medals to soldiers who had recently returned from Afghanistan. "You did your job magnificently, helping the people of Helmand to face their future with greater security and confidence, and you all came home safe and sound," the Duke told the First Battalion Irish Guards at Mons Barracks. "This speaks greatly of your professionalism and to your care for one another. We are extremely proud of you, and glad beyond words that you are safely home. "The 31-year-old ex-RAF helicopter pilot briefly met some of the servicemen and their families.The prince is expected to officially rejoin the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals regiment in London, having left Anglesey in the summer. William was last part of the cavalry in 2006.
